ABOUT
Stephanie is a Cambodian-Malaysian filmmaker born and raised in Brooklyn, New York. She started her filmmaking career directing a short documentary titled Rouge Blood about her family’s escape from the Cambodian genocide. She was selected as a Tribeca Film Fellow where she directed her first narrative short. She has worked alongside the Tribeca Film Institute to develop several shorts.
As a writer, she was an episodic writer for PBS’s show Subcultured for the episode titled Lessons From Women in Graffiti Who Overcame Adversity. She has produced and edited promotional videos for Showtime Networks including shows and classic films such as Billions, Waco, and Silence of the Lambs. In her time at Showtime Networks, she assisted on edits on trailers for shows like Ziwe and Yellowjackets.
In 2024, she directed and wrote Kingdom of Demons which went on to win the Great Reel Ladies award at The Great Film Festival and Best Young Director award at the Los Angeles Movie and Music Video Awards. It has screened in NYC, LA and in Cambodia. In 2025, her film The Pacified Rage was selected as a staff pick at Seed & Spark and as of 2026 it is completed and ready to be shared out into the world.
She has edited work for Delish, Buzzfeed, Courier Newsroom, PBS, Paper Empire TV Series, and Kyra TV.
